Breaking the Silence

DFV training sessions

Occasionally the CPU will run a training session on ‘Understanding and Responding to Domestic & Family Violence’. This training session varies between an in-person session in your area or through an online session.

The CPU will notify your church’s BTS representative if a training session is available for your area.

The CPU serves the Presbyterian Church of Australia in NSW, ACT, WA and Tasmania in:

  • Responding to and meeting statutory requirements regarding:
      • child abuse,
      • risk of significant harm,
      • reportable conduct,
      • sexual misconduct, and
      • conduct which breaches the Breaking the Silence Code of Conduct.
  • Investigating or overseeing investigations of allegations and complaints of abuse appropriately.  For example, reportable conduct scheme investigations.
