CPU Team Update

Thank you, and farewell to Courtney

It is with both sadness and thankfulness that we let you know that Ms Courtney Chan has decided to resign as Administration Manager with the CPU. Courtney was the first person to join Liz McClean when the ‘Child Protection Unit’ (now ‘Conduct Protocol Unit’) was established. For many years it was just Courtney and Liz, taking on the massive task of reaching the Presbyterian Church in NSW and other States with Breaking the Silence. Courtney has been part of Jericho Road for 17 years and has seen the CPU grow and change over that time. She has brought a passion for service, attention to detail, a love for God’s people and a dedication to her work that has served us well and brought glory to God. We are thankful for her and know God will continue to use her mightily in this next season of her life. We know you will join us in wishing Courtney well.

Emails to the CPU that would have been directed to Courtney can be sent to cpu-admin@pcnsw.org.au.

Thank you, and farewell to Kerry

Similarly, it is with sadness and thankfulness that we also say farewell to Ms Kerry Cole. Kerry and her husband Ian have had to take on a number of different roles in their local church beyond what they previously did. This means that Kerry is unable to continue in her role as Auditing & Compliance Manager. Kerry has been a great blessing to the CPU and has kindly guided and supported many congregations to compliance over the past years. She will be missed, and we know you will also join us in wishing her well.

Welcome to Terry Georgeson, as CPU Director

It is with pleasure that we announce the appointment of Ms Terry Georgeson as the Director, Conduct Protocol Unit.

Terry has over 30 years’ experience working with children and families in a variety of different roles. She has provided training in Child Safety and legislation to managers and staff from not-for-profit organisations over the last 8 years. Having started off in her Christian life as a child attending Sunday School and a holiday Kids’ Club, Terry is a keen advocate for the Child Safe Standards.  These Standards support church leaders to provide safe places for children in their churches and child and youth ministries.  Terry has been working in the last year in the community to support community leaders in providing responsive care particularly to older and vulnerable people in the community. Terry has enjoyed being part of the Presbyterian church for over 10 years now and participating in different ministries of the church including Playgroup, Sunday School, Scripture teaching, Preschool, Kid’s Club activities and Church Camps.

Terry will join the CPU team on Monday March 21, 2022 and her contact email is tgeorgeson@pcnsw.org.au.

Vera taking on role of Assistant Director

We would like to acknowledge and thank Vera Buvcevska for acting as Director, CPU for the past year.  We are pleased to announce that Vera’s previous role of Case Manager has been expanded to include a larger focus on child safety strategies, and she has been appointed as Assistant Director, CPU.
